This is about a rich Japanese family starting to live in Shanghai in 1936 just before the war Japan-China break down.

Haru, the young girl will discover another culture in a country highly hostile to her. Hopefully, she will meet a young chinese who will soon become her first anf only friend. Step by step she will open to this country and its people.

But the war is just around the corner.
